A combination of workshops, youth-led projects, a conference and a social media campaign.

The Young Initiators Project uses the Victorian Values Statements as a springboard for young people to connect with others, consider the issues they are passionate about, become active citizens and make positive change within their communities.

Leadership workshops: Workshops run over two days and are held at various locations across the state.

Youth-led projects: Young people who participate in the two-day workshops will be invited to be part of a youth-led project team where they will design and develop a project to help tackle an issue they have identified within their community.

Social media campaign: YIP is accompanied by a blog and Instagram to showcase the incredible things young people can achieve as part of this program, as well as highlighting other inspiring people from around the world.

Initiate Youth Conference: A dynamic youth-led gathering that will bring together young people from across the state to showcase their talent and explore leadership and active citizenship within the context of the Victorian Value Statements.

This program is funded by the State Government’s Victorian Multicultural Commission.
