The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds. Our programs represent a commitment to affecting change at the individual, community and systemic levels across the broadest range of sectors.

From working directly with young people through intensive case work support, to creating leadership opportunities for young people to be heard, we are constantly looking for ways to put young people at the center of this change-making process. What we learn through working so closely with young people informs our efforts to build the capacity of other service providers. This work in turn helps us to create partnerships and build the necessary evidence to advocate and advise at the highest levels.

CMY has placement opportunities for students who are studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Youth Work, Social Work, Education, Community Development or Social Services.

If you are a student interested in placement, please contact the placement coordinator at your university with your expression of interest. They will need to send CMY ( jobs@cmy.net.au) your application. Where relevant, students should address any key selection criteria in their application. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for interview.

CMY has offices throughout Victoria from which our various programs are run with the option for students to undertake placements in the South East, North West, CBD or Regional Victoria.

Please adhere to the closing dates for applications for the following semester, as outlined below. Field Education planning for students commences one semester prior to placements. Applications received by these dates will be given priority.
