This session is a standalone training, but it is suggested that participants complete Culturally Responsive Practice (Part 1) prior to registering for this training.

This half-day interactive professional development session covers the pre-migration experience of youth and factors impacting successful settlement, highlighting tools and strategies from the National Youth Settlement Framework.

The National Youth Settlement Framework is a guide developed to support good settlement outcomes for young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds. It provides practical tools, strategies, and Good Practice Capabilities to enhance the effectiveness of practitioners working with young people in the settlement process.

Q. Can I attend this training if I haven’t completed part 1: Culturally Responsive Youth Practice?

Yes, you can attend this training even if you haven’t completed Part 1: Culturally Responsive Youth Practice, however if you haven’t done any related training in the past, participating in Part 1 first is suggested. Part 2 will focus on young people’s experience of settling in Australia and explore how to apply the National Youth Settlement Framework to support good settlement.
