Explore the essential skills and knowledge required for effective work with young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

This half-day interactive professional development workshop provides an introduction to the essential skills and knowledge you’ll need to work effectively with young people and their families and communities. It is applicable across a broad range of sectors and for work with young people from any community.

What does this session include?  

Expected Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore the complexities of culture and its influence on our own worldview 
  • Examine what implicit bias is and how it is relevant to cultural responsiveness  
  • Build awareness of the knowledge, skills and attitudes that support a culturally responsive approach  
  • Identify culturally responsive strategies for effective work with young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
