Speak Up Workshops

Speak Up! is a primary prevention project using the leadership, unique identities and experiences of multicultural young people to promote understanding of gender equity and consent amongst peers; encouraging intergenerational conversations within multicultural communities; and improve responses within the service sector. CMY’s Youth Facilitators are designing and delivering a workshop for the community sector to deepen understanding of young people’s experiences of gender equality and to promote awareness and solutions to their communities and to the service sector.

All workshops have been co-designed and will be co-delivered young people.

Workshops

Community Sector

Workshops for the community sector aim to improve understanding for organisations around experience of multicultural young people experiencing family violence. These workshops look to enhance collective knowledge of services in good practice in engaging and supporting young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to promote positive identities and respectful relationships, and challenge the condoning of violence against women, in a way that values the strengths, intersecting identities and experiences, and innovative solutions that young people bring to the table

Workshops also look to define and improve sensitivity in the practice of sector professionals working in health, education, government and community and social services who may engage with young multicultural people experiences gender inequity and related issues.
