CEO message: 2019-2020 Annual Report
It has been a flying start to the year, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on last year and all that was achieved together despite challenging circumstances. It was a year unlike any other in CMY’s history; the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the lives of young Victorians from migrant and refugee backgrounds will be felt well into the future.
I hope that all of our communities, young people, partners and supporters were able to enjoy a restful and re-energising break after such an intensely challenging year, and that 2021 has been good to you so far. I hope those of you celebrating the Lunar New Year recently managed to still enjoy some festivities, despite the lockdown in Victoria.
At CMY, we’ve entered 2021 with a renewed sense of hope, fresh energy, and determination. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with all of our partners to ensure that multicultural young people have every opportunity to be connected, empowered and influential in their lives and communities.
We’re pleased to share with you our newly published 2019-2020 Annual Report – which captures just how much was achieved by the CMY team during extraordinarily challenging circumstances.
I found myself on many occasions last year blown away by the determination, passion and innovation of our team; by the resilience and adaptability of the young people we work with. It fills me with so much hope, for the future of our state and all of our young leaders in the making.
I encourage you all to take some time to read about the journey we’ve been on over the past year. On behalf of the young people and communities we work with, thank you to all of our dedicated funders and supporters, for your ongoing belief and commitment to CMY’s vision.
