CMY Position Statement on Employment
Multicultural young people have demonstrated they have the enterprise, skills, resilience and optimism to significantly contribute to Australia’s evolving labour market and economy; however, there remain significant barriers to full and equal participation for many. Youth transitions and employment are particularly vulnerable to economic disruption, like the recent pandemic, with potential for catastrophic and lifelong repercussions for those already facing obstacles to economic inclusion. We must work together to identify and remove the complex and intersecting barriers that prevent full and equal access to opportunities and participation for young multicultural Victorians.
