VMYA Stakeholder Network Meeting
The Victorian Multicultural Youth Alliance (VMYA) brings together organisations working with migrant and refugee young people across Victoria to collaborate, share insights, and advocate for systemic change.
The purpose of the network is to support and inform policy-level change by amplifying community-based perspectives and promoting coordinated action for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds and those working with them across Victoria.
The VMYA will also feed directly into the work of the MYAN National Policy Alliance led by the Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network (MYAN) Australia to advocate for young people at the national level.
What to expect…
The VMYA is currently open to new members and we invite you to come along, learn about the network and as an opportunity to:
- Reconnect with past and new stakeholders working with young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds in Victoria
- Consult on key policy and service delivery issues arising in your work
- Identify collaborative opportunities
- Shape the focus of future VMYA forums and collaborations
In addition to exploring how the VMYA can work to promote coordinated support and action for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds across Victoria, this first session will also explore current responses to addressing racism in schools.
Whether you’re online or in person, we encourage your participation in this important conversation.
Please RSVP by COB Monday 12 May and confirm any access requirements. Zoom links will be sent out in leadup to event.
Light refreshments will be provided at the in-person venue.
