Connecting through creativity in Gippsland
The CMY Gippsland team recently welcomed six primary-aged multicultural young people for a fun and creative card-making workshop delivered in partnership with Purple Hedgehog.
The workshop provided a welcoming and inclusive space for young people to come together, get creative and connect with each other. Throughout the session, participants were introduced to different card-making techniques and had the opportunity to create three different styles of handmade cards each.
Young people were encouraged to explore their own creativity and personalise their designs, resulting in a wonderful range of colourful and unique cards. The activity also created opportunities for young people to share ideas, support each other and build connections in a relaxed environment.
Creative activities like this provide young people with opportunities to develop confidence, express themselves and participate in positive social experiences. For our multicultural young people, coming into the CMY Gippsland office also provide a space where they can feel welcomed, included and connected with their community.
