Eleanor Natoli - WINNER

Flemington Community Centre- Family Inclusive Language and Learning Support

Eleanor has been volunteering in the Family Inclusive Language and Learning Support (FILLS) Program at Flemington Community Centre for the past 3 years. In her role as a Volunteer Learning Coach, Eleanor supports Grade 3 – 6 children with a refugee or migrant background who live locally. Eleanor provides support in a range of ways, from assisting students with homework, to engaging in some healthy competition during games of Connect Four. She loves seeing familiar faces every week and appreciates the little spark in a child’s eye when they understand a problem for the first time. Eleanor’s dedication to the FILLS program and passion for assisting the students makes her an incredibly valued member of the team. The program attracts up to 60 primary school children each week and Eleanor’s calming presence ensures the children settle quickly and work diligently on their homework.  Her reliability and commitment is important in an ever-changing volunteer space!
