The Department of Education and Training is holding an information session about Victoria’s government education system. Parents and other members of the community interested in education are invited to attend and will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about government schools in Victoria.
Speakers will include representatives from the Department of Education and Training, as well as, local government schools and CMY's Shout Out speaker Ariana Tugaga.
Ariana was born in Samoa and came to Australia in 2001. She is an advocate for positive change in the community. As societal norms and values change, so too do the perspectives of people in relation to issues that are more often than not, manipulated by the media. This is where Ariana comes into play. As a strong and open-minded person, she is devoted to presenting issues that are categorised as controversial and offers a third-person perspective on racial stereotyping and other controversial issues; two topics regularly twisted by media outlets.
