Denise has 20 years of experience as a trainer and facilitator in the community sector. Originally a health professional, Denise held a variety of roles, often in multicultural settings. It was while working with children and young people with additional needs that she discovered a passion for creating accessible and fun training. Denise went on to specialise in community education and completed a Masters in Professional Education and Training.
Denise has facilitated peer education and ‘train the trainer’ projects with people from refugee backgrounds. She has also taught cross-cultural communication for diverse groups including international volunteers, community support workers, health professionals and police undertaking international deployments. Denise believes training should be enjoyable, thought-provoking and practical. For Denise, training is successful if it builds on participants’ expertise and equips them with skills to work more effectively.
