Amalia had 14 years of experience working in the international aid and development sectors, before joining CMY. Specialising in child rights she trained people around the world in both emergency and development situations.
She has an MA in African Studies from Yale University and an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration from Oxford University. She has lived and worked in many countries, including Tanzania, Switzerland, the Solomon Islands and the UK, and has always trained in a multicultural environment.
The role with CMY has enabled her to combine her academic background and professional experience with her love of training. Amalia believes training should be a two-way process, so encourages participants to share their own experience and expertise. For her, a successful training leads participants to think about something in a new way and have fun while doing it.
