What is Voices of Freedom?

Voices of Freedom Youth Networks is a project that aims to give young people a ‘voice’ on issues related to their on-going well-being.

Program Details

CMY convenes and resources regular Youth Network meetings with and for young people, with strong representation from young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. A Planning Reference Group of 6-8 young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds is established and supported to plan and deliver each statewide network meeting. Three network meetings are held per financial year. Young people are supported by CMY and the relevant stakeholders to develop youth led projects in response to issues raised at the Youth Network Meetings.

This initiative also supports young people to provide advice to agencies, youth groups and schools in relation to youth participation issues for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

Partners

The project is funded by the Victorian Government though the Office for Youth.
