What is Teaching Diversities?
|
Teaching Diversities: Same Sex-Attracted Young People, CALD communities and Arts based Community Education focused on the vulnerabilities and needs of same sex-attracted (SSA) young people, particularly those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) and emerging communities.
This research project gathered community-based directives from young SSA young people on best-practices for arts-based community education about same sex attraction within CALD and emerging communities to achieve the broad community education on how Gay Rights = Human Rights. SSA young people from CLD communities were consulted on their ideas for potential arts projects that would address homophobia and racism.
The project partners - CMY and Victoria University – are seeking funding for a long term arts project to be staged in 2012.
