Young people from diverse cultural backgrounds have a lot to offer as volunteers. The Diverse Young Volunteers project informed organisations about how to recruit and retain young people from newly arrived, refugee, migrant and second generation backgrounds as volunteers.
Program Details
Through consultations with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including young people from diverse backgrounds, CMY explored both successful organisational recruitment strategies for young people as volunteers, and the support and recognition of young people that facilitates retention.
A six-minute video and a fact sheet have been produced as a result of the project, which took place from February to September 2011.
